Breakfast

Breakfast for Inn Room Guests: Here at the Inn at Valley Farms in Walpole, NH, we’re passionate about the morning meal. For inn guests breakfast is a multi-course homemade affair served in our beautiful dining room on our vast antique dining room table. Beautiful china, table linens, candlelight, and fresh arrangements set the stage for what’s to come.

We are a farm as much as we are a B&B, and we strive to grow a wide variety of the cleanest, healthiest food possible. Throughout our farm we follow organic and no-till gardening practices and pick the freshest vegetables, herbs and edible flowers directly from our gardens daily. It is this food that we base the creation of our decadent three-course candlelight breakfast for a true farm-to-table experience.

Our menu changes seasonally, and we always cook from scratch using the freshest ingredients possible. Our strawberry rhubarb compote with fresh cream is a perennial spring favorite, while baked heirloom apples (from our neighbor’s orchard) with our homemade granola are regularly requested in late summer and fall. Our pasture-raised laying hens produce some of the most nutritious eggs available and are a regular menu feature paired with all sorts of seasonal vegetables from our garden. Fresh, hot, steaming popovers with our homemade jam have become one of our trademark breakfast offerings along with other guest favorites such as chocolate amaretto pound cake and peach French toast with local peaches. You will not leave our breakfast table hungry!

We serve plenty of strong locally roasted, organic, fair trade coffee, a selection of organic teas, local honey, our own maple syrup, small fruits, and edible flowers to round out your meal. And raw milk is available from several of our neighboring farms.

We understand food sensitivities and since we cook everything from scratch can easily adjust our menu to accommodate most any dietary restrictions including vegetarian, vegan, paleo, gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, and other food intolerances with advance notice.

Coffee and tea is self-serve in our butler’s pantry 24/7 and can be had at any hour throughout your stay. The butler’s pantry is also where you’ll find our bottomless jar of scrumptious oversized homemade cookies, wine glasses, wine opener, silverware, paper plates, cutting board, microwave, and a guest refrigerator for your use.

Breakfast is typically served at 8:30 each morning, but we can adjust the time if necessary. If you have an especially early commitment or departure time, we’re also happy to pack something for you to take along with you.

Breakfast for Cottage Guests: In addition to the breakfast basics you’ll find in the fully equipped kitchen when you arrive (local glass bottled milk, premium orange juice, coffee, teas, and a dozen of our own farm fresh pasture raised eggs), a basket of our scrumptious homemade baked goods and locally made artisan breads will be brought to your doorstep each morning. Our own pasture-raised nitrate-free bacon and sausage, our homemade jams, and maple syrup can be purchased from our farm store during your stay for an extra special breakfast treat. Or plan ahead and we can have these items waiting for you in your cottage upon arrival. You may also pick (with permission) a diverse array of fruits, vegetables, herbs and edible flowers fresh from our extensive organically managed gardens in season to complement your meals during your stay with us.
