King Arthur Baking Center in Norwich, VT Celebrates Grand Opening

Do you or like to bake? Are you looking for that hard to find ingredient, baking pan, or tool? Want to improve your baking skills? Then a trip to King Arthur Flour in nearby Norwich, Vermont is a must.

King Arthur Flour is America’s oldest flour company, founded in Boston in 1790. In the more than 220 years since it’s inception the employee-owned company has expanded to include a full line of first quality and hard-to-find flours and mixes including, among others, organic, gluten-free, rye, and pumpernickel. Additionally, they have created a retail store, bakery and cafe carrying the widest variety of cooking and baking tools, pans, flavorings, sanding sugars and related gifts I think I have ever seen. It has long been a destination for bakers of all skill levels, but now there’s even more reason to visit.

This weekend marks the King Arthur Flour’s grand opening of the expansion of their flagship store in nearby Norwich, Vermont. King Arthur has expanded their baking retail store, bakery/cafe and education center. Activities this weekend include tours of the new facility, kids’ activities, hands-on baking stations for all ages, cook book authors and book signings, raffles, door prizes, bread giveaways, and more.

While King Arthur Flour’s store is focused on baking we have two additional wonderful kitchen stores in our immediate area. Your Kitchen Store, in their newly renovated space on historic Main Street in downtown Keene, NH, is said to be the largest independently owned kitchen store in New England. In addition to their extensive array of kitchen supplies and necessities at competitive prices they offer a wide array of cooking classes in their new demonstration kitchen.

Thyme to Cook, an outgrowth of one of the longtime local favorite restaurants, Leslie’s Tavern in nearby Rockingham, VT, carries a wide variety of kitchen supplies, utensils and gifts. Thyme to Cook and Leslie’s Tavern also offers cooking classes given by Leslie’s chef and co-owner John Marston. Participants of their cooking classes receive 10% off purchases made at Thyme to Cook on class day.

With the extensive variety of locally grown and organic foods produced right here in Walpole (nearly 200 varieties of fruit, extensive variety of vegetables available at farm stands and the Walpole Farmers’ Market, 100% grass-fed beef & lamb, pasture-raised pork, chicken, turkey and eggs, award winning Burdick Chocolate, cheese, Walpole’s own winery and vineyard, premium ice cream, raw milk, maple syrup, honey and more) there’s every reason for food lovers to come and stay in our unique farm stay in New Hampshire’s beautiful Monadnock Region. We hope to see you at one of these three great cooking stores or a class real soon!
